First time ever photography show for Rob Shanahan in LA

Rob Shanahan, one of rock music’s most published photographers, and Ringo Starr’s personal photographer, will be sharing his photos of some of the most legendary musicians in rock music on August 6,th  at the Q Art Gallery (www.qart.com) in Marina del Rey, CA. This comprehensive show will include candid photos of not only Ringo Starr, but also of Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Pharrell, Katie Perry, Maroon 5, Dave Grohl, Sting, Elton John and many other famous performers. Shanahan specializes in intimate portraits of musicians not only behind the scenes, but also in the studio, on stage, and back stage too, and he will be available that evening to share stories and personal anecdotes about the musicians he has been shooting over the course of his career.

"Sharing my photos of some of the most iconic musicians all at one time, in one space is a dream come true."

Rob Shanahan, Rock & Roll Photograher

Although Shanahan is highly regarded in the music industry, and he and his photos have been featured in a variety of outlets including Rolling Stone, Spin, NPR and Playboy to local ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates, along with commercial work with Sketchers, his expansive collection has never been shown in a Los Angeles gallery until now. And Q Art -- which is the largest volume art auctioneer on the internet – whose first brick and mortar gallery opened last December, has never featured a photographer, so it is first-time show for the gallery as well as Shanahan, and is expected to be an exceptionally popular show.

The show will also feature live entertainment by 6-time consecutive Grammy award winner Daniel Ho, who is best known for his instrumental and world music. Daniel's custom six-string KoAloha 'ukulele, the D-VI, is currently on exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum, where Shanahan has also exhibited his photographs and given live talks about his work.

The reception will be from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and the show will run until August 31st, and photos will be available online at www.qart.com. Q Art Gallery is located at 480 Washington Blvd., Marina del Ray, CA.
